A North Adelaide Front Courtyard Tiled in Paradise Rose Pink — Featuring the Princess's Bracelet Border
Pink is having a moment in Australian outdoor design — and Melissa Taylor's front courtyard in North Adelaide, South Australia shows exactly why. This compact entry courtyard has been completely re-floored in the Pink Lovers Series Paradise Rose Satin 300x300mm Ceramic Tile, a soft, blush-toned patterned ceramic that turns an ordinary entry into a Mediterranean-style welcome moment. Inside the home, the same project also showcases the Cnr & Brd Series Princess's Bracelet 300x300mm Border Tile as a decorative band in a powder room — a beautiful example of two tiles from different COCO collections working in concert.
Why Paradise Rose Works So Well Outdoors
The Paradise Rose tile features a delicate floral medallion repeated across each 300×300 mm tile, in a palette of soft blush, terracotta and aged ivory. Laid as a continuous floor field, the medallions visually link to form a larger rug-like pattern — exactly the effect Melissa achieved here. The satin ceramic finish is hard-wearing enough for a covered courtyard floor while the warm pink palette stops the space ever feeling cold, even in the South Australian winter. Pair it with white-painted brickwork, ironwork chairs and a few terracotta pots (as Melissa has done) for an effortlessly Mediterranean entry.
A Decorative Band Inside: Princess's Bracelet
Inside the same home, Melissa has used the Princess's Bracelet border tile from the Cnr & Brd Series as a horizontal decorative band in a powder room. The Princess's Bracelet design features tiny stylised birds linked by trailing flowers — a classic Art Nouveau motif. Set against a neutral stone-look field tile, this border instantly elevates an everyday small space into something charming and personal. It is a great reminder that sometimes the most memorable design moments come from the smallest decorative tile insertions.
Get the Look in Your Own Home
If you have a small front porch, courtyard, balcony or covered alfresco area that needs personality, the Paradise Rose tile from the Pink Lovers Series is an outstanding starting point — and you don't need a huge floor area to make a statement. Even a 2×3 metre patch is enough to create a "rug effect" that draws the eye and lifts the whole entryway.
